FAQ

Why Choose Catherine Reese, Fine Art Photography?

Because you’ll have a great time, and have the portraits you’ve always dreamed of.

We are honored when you put your trust in our studio to create images that reflect you or your families beautiful qualities. We are passionate about creating images that will touch your heart and those that view them. When you arrive as a client, you leave as a friend. We care about your family and want to give you the Reese Ranch Experience, which is fun, friendship and that extra something special.

What Are Your Studio Hours?
Our studio and appointment hours are 9am and 5pm Monday through Friday by appointment only. By scheduling first, we will be able to give you our undivided attention and provide you with the highest level of service possible. Should you not be able to make a scheduled session, please call us as soon as possible so that we can reschedule as necessary.

Although available from 9am- 4pm for portrait sessions, we recommend morning appointments as the best time to have your portrait done. This is the time that everyone tends to be fresh for the day and helps avoid coming in with the whole day on one’s shoulders so to speak. With younger children under 5, morning sessions are best, but we will always work with you & your indiviual situation.

How Do We View The Images From Our Portrait Session?
We present your images on a flat screen set to music complete with popcorn & snacks for you to make your selections. After your portrait session, we will set up a viewing time for you.  We allow plenty of time for viewing and decision making in a relaxed atmosphere in our viewing gallery. There is no charge for the first viewing and we ask that you plan on making your decisions during this scheduled time. Additional viewing sessions are charged at the rate of $150 per viewing session scheduled. Please allow approximately 1 1/2 hours for your viewing as we do not want you to be rushed.

What Is A Portrait Design Consultation?
A visit to the studio is the first step to a really great portrait. Our consultation is simply an opportunity for you to get familiar with our studio’s latest work while you get ideas seeing portraits that are similar to what you’re looking to do. You can check out our latest backgrounds and outdoor locations, and review our current pricing before you book a portrait time. Another benefit of the Portrait Consultation is that you’ll get great clothing ideas that will be in harmony with the setting you select. Portrait Consultations are free and there is no-obligation, so if you are thinking of a portrait in the near future, give us a call, 707-275-9705. We can help you plan a smooth, relaxed portrait day. We will also talk about children, family life, special props, your home decor and the perfect place to display your portraits. In order to create something really special, a portrait that captures the personality of your loved ones, a portrait design consultation is a must! I will work hard to insure we are both prepared for your session and you will receive the results you desire - portraits to treasure for a lifetime.

How Long Will My Session Last?
This depends on what type of session you select and how many images we create. We normally allocate a half hour for simple business portraits to 2 hours for  larger families or babies and everywhere in between.

What Is My Minimum Purchase?
Our studio does not charge a session fee at this time, nor do we charge extra for things like clothing changes adding family members & pets. I personally don’t like hidden charges, so you won’t find them here! We do have a minimum purchase which means the minimum investment is $400. This amount applies directly to your prints in the sizes you desire. Of course you can spend more & most people do, either way you get the same individualized service that we are known for.

When Is My Payment Due?
The minimum purchase is due at the time of your Portrait Session. Payments for portraits are due at the time the order is placed. We want to help you get the portraits that you need and desire. We will be happy to work out a layaway plan for you. Please remember that we cannot release any portion of an order until the order has been paid in full.

Incredible Guarantee.
We want you to be thrilled with your portraits. Together we have invested considerable time, effort and expense in their creation. Therefore you deserve the very finest work possible. We absolutely, positively guarantee that you will be thrilled with your images (not just "satisfied"), and we will do whatever is necessary to see that you are, or we will cheerfully refund your money 100% no hassles, no hard feelings.

When Do You Recommend High School Senior Portraits To Be Done?
If your senior prefers outdoor portraits, then spring, summer, and fall is best. In the winter, we can make it happen, but keep in mind the yearbook deadlines. If your senior only wants studio portraits, then the seasons are irrelevant, only the yearbook deadlines.

How Often Do You Recommend Having Family Portraits Done?
Every 1-3 years and each time the stork has paid your family a visit, and before your child goes off to college, it caputres a special time, before they change officially into young adults.

How Often Do You Recommend Having Portraits Done For An Infant Or Child?
Someday the child you hold now will want to tell your grandchildren what it was like when he or she was growing up. Imagine how wonderful it would be to have a beautiful priceless images of that childhood to pass down to future generations.

Many clients tell us they regret not having more portraits made as their children grew up. It's not that they didn't value childhood portraits, they simply led busy lives, and the years just slipped by. That's why we've created a plan to help parents recognize the most important times to have their children photographed: The times that mark the most significant changes along the path from infancy to young adulthood.

Baby's First year - Preserve the wonder of infancy in baby's first year portrait collection that captures your child's first milestones... from birth... to sitting up... to crawling... and finally the independence of walking. This lovely "portrait story" can become the first chapter of your child's personal portrait history.
Age 2... an age of many moods
Age 3... ready to meet the world
Age 4 to 5... attitude & interests
Age 6 to 8... milestones & passions
Age 9 to 12... searching, finding
Age 13 to 15... previews of promise
